Wagons & The Journey

Life is a journey. On it, we cross paths with people who are on journeys and have unique experiences. Interestingly, the wagons have a way of bringing people together and opportunities for new relationships are formed. When that occurs, listening is a key element. Listening to others’ stories may reveal ways you can bless or be blessed.
Last weekend on our journey to the heartland of the USA, we met Chuck & Donnia when they took delivery of a parade wagon. They shared some of their journey. As a pastor, Chuck & Donnia serve others in their area. Faith and family is a significant part of their journey. We look forward to hearing how they use their antique John Deere tractors and wagon to bless others.

Parade Wagon Safety

As antique tractor and equipment collectors, safety is a high value.  Many of us are extra cautious as family and friends participate.  Common questions asked about parade wagons prompted the thought of creating a list of basic tips to help make your parade wagon use a safe and pleasant experience.  Some of this may sound overly simple however, we all need reminders.  These are basic things we do and hope they will serve you.

Parade Wagon
Safety Tips
General
·         It is the purpose and intent of the wagons to be used in parades at slow speed and operated on a parade route. They are not designed for use as an “off road” or “all-terrain” transport.
·         The tow vehicle will be a tractor operating in low gear.
·         Wagons should be attached to the tractor with a hitch pin and safety clip in place.
·         Check local parade requirements that may require the use of a “slow moving vehicle” (SMV) emblem or lights on the wagon.
Passengers
·         Wagon seating space is for 12 average size adults evenly distributed with 6 on each side.
·         Adult supervision is recommended when children are riding in the wagon to ensure all remain seated.
·         Steps with hand rails provide a safe environment to board and de-board the wagon.
·         The wagon should be at a complete and secure stop when loading and unloading persons. An assisting person at the steps will add to their safety.
·         When on the wagon, persons should remain seated at ALL times.
·         No standing on seat benches is allowed at any time.
·         Securely close and latch rear entry safety chain after all persons are on before moving the wagon.

Wagons & Relationships

We hold relationships in high regard. It begins with our relationship with God, family, and others. Our desire is that New Generation Weber Wagons can be used to be a blessing. Cool stories from our friends are an encouragement.

George & Mary are new friends in Minnesota. They recently took delivery of a restored John Deere 953 running gear with a 12 ft. parade wagon.
They shared plans to bless others in their community and church with this wagon in 2013. We look forward to hearing the stories and seeing more pictures.
